If you go into the woods today….D Family Photos {Brisbane Family Photographer}

This lovely little family were one of the participants in the “Watch me Grow” competition earlier this year. To say thank you I wanted to take a few family snaps for them.

Mum was so good in letting me use a few ideas I had been wanting to try for a while. I am super excited with how they turned out. It was such a lovely easy-going shoot. Gorgeous little bubs finally fell asleep for us too which was awesome for some sleepy shots.

I love the bush background in these shots! So very Australian.

Brianna and Nic Engagement Session {Brisbane Powerhouse Engagement Photographer}

Brianna and Nic were referred to me through an old school friend of mine, so their engagement shoot was our first meeting. They chose to have photos at the Powerhouse museum/ New Farm park. Fortunately we were lucky enough to have some sunshine as rain clouds were not far away earlier that afternoon. Brianna and Nic are such a lovely down-to-earth couple and I am very much looking forward to shooting their wedding later this year! Thank you for being such an easy couple to photograph and congratulations to you both!

Hi everyone,

So tomorrow is my little man’s 1st birthday. Amongst all the planning for his birthday party this weekend, I thought it would be fun to have a little competition to celebrate. I was only expecting a few participants and maybe 100 votes or so. Well, we had 15 entrants and 450 votes in total. A massive thank you to everyone who got involved.

The prize for the winner included a free photo shoot with a free 11″x14″ print. If the winner had over 100+ votes, they also received a disc of 10 images FREE!

Jackson’s 1st Birthday {Brisbane Portrait Photography Competition}

Almost one year ago a special little person came into our lives. It has been a huge learning curve but he has brought so much joy with him. Watching Jackson grow and learn is so much fun. Our lounge room is currently his playground pulling up onto couches, chairs, walls, opening every cupboard and touching everything he can get his hands onto. Right now he is having a big laugh about…who knows what…but that’s what I love. He is such a beautiful happy little boy.

To celebrate his upcoming 1st birthday I am going to run a competition!

The prize will consist of:

1 portrait session + an 11″x14″ print valued at $140

To enter all you need to do is email me a photo of one of your favourite things, something that brings joy to your life. It might be a book, a flower, your son/ daughter, husband, home, car, chocolate…anything. Photos do not need to be fancy, take it with your iphone if you want and make sure you keep it simple.

Your photo will then be posted on my facebook page and here on my blog. The aim of the game is to get as many votes as you can. Votes are counted for each person who comments below and tells me which number image they are voting for. Every person who enters must get a minimum of 30 votes. But don’t stop there! If you get over 100 votes on your photo (and it is possible) and have the most votes by the closing date, I will throw in a high res. CD of your sessions images (total value $490)!

Everyone who votes for your photo has a chance to win too! I will be randomly choosing THREE people who will receive a $50 photography gift voucher. There are also other handmade goodies up for grabs.

Kristie and Michael’s Wedding Day {Brisbane/ Yeppoon Wedding Photographer}

It’s not every day you get to do destination weddings and I was fortunate enough at the start off the month in Yeppoon photographing Kristie and Michael’s wedding! I decided it would be easier to do the 8 hour drive with some company so I took along my husband, son and brother for the drive! Long car trips are not always my favourite, especially now with a baby, but part of me loves the adventure!

There was some amazing scenery on the way up (something I appreciate much more as a photographer) and Yeppoon was such a beautiful sea side town. Gorgeous. The weather was perfect and I had the privileged of doing a maternity shoot and trash the dress shoot while I was up there too! So it was a bit of a whirlwind trip, but an enjoyable one!

Thank you Kristie and Michael for being so easy going, and for going out of your way for me on the day. I truly enjoyed being a part of your day. You could see the hard work that went into bringing everything together and making it personal to you both. I hope these photos preserve the memory of your special day in the way you remember it! ♥ Shayla

M Family Photos {Affordable Brisbane Family Photographer}

My initial session with this family had to be re-scheduled due to an absolute downpour of rain! The day I did their session was beautiful! This little family were so easy going and a lot of fun. There were so many people around because it was a public holiday but we managed to squeeze between the crowds to make the most of the beautiful scenery. Thanks again guys! I had a lot of fun. ♥Shayla
